Acoustical foam is used for sound absorption and to reduce noise. It can be used inside of housings for noisy machinery or computer server rooms to reduce any noise trying to escape into nearby areas. This reduces the need for hearing protection and makes an office environment more comfortable.
It is also used in music or recording studios to take the energy out of reflected sound and reduce the time noise stays in the air. It reduces noise pollution and allows the human voice and music to sound clearer and better.
The foam used for acoustical is the 1870C (charcoal colour). It’s a 1.8 lb. density with a 70 lb. ILD or extra firm compression. It is convoluted with a 1.5” peak over a ½” valley.
