Fill in the sizes based on old foam cushions or new cover size.
As a rule of thumb, new foam should be 1/2″ bigger, all around, than the cover to fit snuggly. Add 1/2″ to thickness, width, and depth.
Add fibre wrapping to give the cushion a more rounded look and to keep fabric from wrinkling – see fibre details.
See table below for foam options. The higher the density the longer the foam will last before sagging or softening.

Premium HR
HR18
The best High Resiliency (HR) foam made in Canada. HR foam is heavier which means it maintains its thickness and firmness, much longer than traditional polyurethane grades that tend to soften with use. The Q18 and Q22 can be used for premium softer backs and seats. They can also be used long-lasting toppers for added comfort.
This line is a little heavier than regular Premium HR and comes in Super Soft or Firmer Compressions. All Premium grades are non-allergenic and certiPUR-US certified. They are not made with any harmful chemiclas or sustances and have minimal off-gas; especially, when compared to some imported off shore grades which are used in boxed mattresses that are sold online or in some department stores.

Polyester Fibre is mainly used as a comfort layer on top of foam, or by itself, as stuffing in furniture backs. The most common and default thickness, when you order fibre wrap, is 1.25″ thick. It is cut to the size of the cushion and joined, using foam adhesive, to the top, bottom and front of a seat cushion.
The fibre fills in all the gaps in the fabric and gives the finished cushion a more rounded look. Without the fibre the foam alone will look flat and the fabric may appear loose and saggy.
Since fibre compresses easily, you do not need to make an allowance for the fibre when deciding on your foam size or thickness.
